Jackie Vance Childers was born on July 16, 1974, in Selmer, Tennessee, the beloved son of Jackie L. Childers and Mary M. Ledlow Ervin. From an early age, Jackie was known for his strong work ethic, adventurous spirit, and love for life lived to the fullest.
Jackie built his career as a heavy-duty machine operator and was employed with Robinson Electrical, where he was respected for his skill, dedication, and willingness to tackle the toughest jobs. He proudly served his country as a member of the National Guard for four years, a commitment that reflected his sense of duty and loyalty.
Outside of work, Jackie embraced the things that brought him joy. He loved riding four-wheelers, competing in pool tournaments, and spending time practicing target and skeet shooting. These passions reflected his energetic personality and his love for friendly competition and the outdoors.
On November 19, 2025, Jackie Vance Childers departed this life in Guys, Tennessee, at the age of 51 years, 4 months, and 3 days. Though his time here was far too short, the memories he created and the love he shared will remain forever in the hearts of those who knew him.
He is survived by his two sons, Peyton Childers of Middleton, Tennessee, and Parker Childers of Selmer, Tennessee; his daughter, Jaycee Childers of Selmer, Tennessee; his mother, Mary M. Ervin and her husband, Paul, of Selmer, Tennessee; his father, Jackie L. Childers of Kenosha, Wisconsin; and his uncle, Robert Childers of Parachute, Colorado.
Jackie will be remembered for his hardworking nature, his love for adventure, and above all, his devotion to his children and family. His legacy lives on through them and through the many lives he touched along the way.
