JACKY R. MANESS
Finger, TN: Jacky Ray Maness age 55 passed away February 26, 2011 at the Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
He was born in Shelby County and grew up in McNairy County, the son of Billy Ray Maness and Ruby Taylor Maness Hannah. Jacky graduated from Chester County High School in 1973 and attended Freed Hardeman University where he studied computer skills, data processing and the Bible. He graduated from Crump Vocational Technical School where he studied business studies, office occupation, payroll, and account principles.
Jacky was elected as the Chester County Assessor of Property in 1976 and held that position for 24 years. He was the youngest elected Property Assessor ever elected in the State.
He was a member of the Henderson Masonic Lodge 485 and the Order of the Eastern Star, West Tennessee Assessors Association, Tennessee Assessors Association, International Assessors Association and former member of the Governor’s Committee for Employment for People with Disabilities
Jacky married Kathy Gee in 1996 and they made their home at Hickory Corner in Chester County and later made their home in McNairy County not far from Hickory Corner.
He is survived by his wife Kathy Gee Maness of Finger, his father Billy Ray Maness and wife Lynda and his mother Ruby Arleen Taylor Hannah and husband Cliff, a son Bryan Maness and wife Rebecca and a daughter Janet Howell and husband Mike all of Henderson. He has two grandchildren; Malia and Mattie Brook Maness. He also is survived by three sisters Rhonda Wilson and husband Troy of Henderson, Vickie Beshires and husband Larry of Henderson and Monica Baskin of Millington and a special great nephew and close hunting buddy Colton Autry.
