Jacqueline Marcelle Williams

February 2, 1929 — July 5, 2012

Mrs. Jacqueline Marcelle Williams of Middleton departed this life at the age of 83 years, 5 months and 3 days Thursday morning, July 5, 2012 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital in Jackson, Tennessee.



She was born in Paris, France February 2, 1929 to the late Henri and Anna Choise DuPanloup. On January 19, 1948, she was united in marriage to Bernard Addison Williams whom she met in Morocco during World War II; she a teacher, he a soldier in the United States Military. A graduate of the University of Memphis, she worked as a French and English teacher in Memphis City Schools before retiring in 1978 and was an official Berlitz translator. She also lent her talents to the community as a free translator for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.



Among her hobbies, she particularly loved working with ceramics and sculpted statues of Elvis, Napoleon and Marie Antoinette, to name a few. She was also very artistic in other ways and enjoyed needlepoint.



Her husband preceded her in death December 22, 2000 and she remained in Memphis until nearly one year ago, when she moved to the Hardeman County area.



She leaves as her survivors four sons, Bernard Williams, Jr. of Memphis, Terry Joe Williams of Memphis, Michael Williams of Dublin, California, and Paul Williams of Memphis; a brother, Henri DuPanloup of Lyon, France; nine grandchildren, Jason, Amanda, Stephanie, Chelsea, Addison, Terri Jo, Michael, Julie and Jennifer Williams; and several great-grandchildren.
