Mrs. Jacqueline Baker Bray, age 83, of Waynesboro, TN passed away Saturday morning, June 30, 2012, with her son, Steve, and close friend and neighbor, Katie Slone, at her side.
She graduated from Wayne County High School and attended Union University. Jackie was married to Reverend Ralph Bray for 25 years. They ministered in various church fields in Tennessee, Louisiana and Mississippi. She lived in Nashville for 20 years and cared for the elderly. When her mother, Erie Baker, became ill, Jackie devoted herself to her care and well being.
After the death of her father, Jack Baker, in 1992, she returned to Waynesboro and was happy to be reunited with her lifelong friends and enjoyed the companionship of her neighbors. Jackie was a member of Philadelphia Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack Hardin Baker and Erie West Baker, her husband, Reverend Ralph Bray, and nephew, Dr. Craig Baker.
Surviving are her son, Steve Bray and wife Diane of Jackson, TN; grandchildren Kathy Bray of Sevierville, TN; Steve Bray II (Jen) of Annapolis, MD, Tommy Bray of Murfreesboro, TN; brother James Mack Baker and wife, Ruth, of Sevierville, TN niece; Lorri Baker of Sevierville, TN, nephew; Brent Baker and wife Hong, of Chattanooga, TN and great niece; Rachael Baker of Chattanooga, TN.
Visitation will be held Monday, July 2, 2012, from 1:00 pm until service time at 3:00pm.
Pastors Craig Mason and David Miller will officiate. Burial will follow at Philadelphia Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Philadelphia Baptist Church, 2254 Savannah Highway, Waynesboro, TN 38485
