Jaida Ann Koenig

Our beautiful girl was born in Hastings, NE to Michael and Erin (Morrissey) Koenig. She grew up in Grand Island, NE and moved to Kearney, NE with her family. Jaida moved to Walsenburg, CO and then to Michie, TN, which fulfilled her lifelong dream of living in the South.

Jaida was diagnosed with MS in 2019 and fought a hard-won battle to get back to working and living a full life. She began working at Lowe's in Corinth, MS in 2024, and loved her co-workers, and the customers so much. From the time she was tiny, she would go to the "tool store" with her Daddy and always wanted to work there - a dream fulfilled!

Jaida had a way of bringing sunshine, love and compassion to everyone she met, and her joy was contagious.

Her parents; sisters, Kandra Durfield of Phoenix, AZ, Brenna and her husband Corbin Rader; along with her nieces and nephews, Atalya Durfield, Maxwell Leigh, Azaela Durfield, and Jack Rader; as well as her grandmothers, Vicki Morrissey and Carole Benker will miss her brilliant light and love. She had a special relationship with Dave, Cindy and Harley Driscoll, who brought her to the South, and supported her in many ways.

Jaida had a multitude of Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins to love on her, and to receive her special gift of hugs and kindness - as well as her quick wit and Celtic humor.

A Celebration of Jaida's Joy will take place at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Selmer, TN on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM, and in Kearney, NE on Saturday, June 7, 2025 at the Central Nebraska Veteran's Home at 10 AM.
