James Edward Ballard

James Edward Ballard was the son of the late Walter and Azalee Ballard of Montezuma. He lived his entire life on the family farm. He attended school at Montezuma.James was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Henderson.He worked as a school bus driver, mechanic, carpenter, painter, farmer, and retired at American Olean Tile in Jackson, TN due to failing health in November of 1986.James is survived by his wife of 47 years, Ann Stewart Ballard; one son, Randy Ballard and wife Shannon of Luray, TN; 2 grandchildren, Dustin and Brittney Ballard also of Luray, TN.; one sister, Patricia Rinks and husband Larry of Henderson; 2 sister-in-laws: Jane Flatt and Tami Stewart; 1 brother-in-law, Fay Stewart; 3 nephews; 2 nieces; 6 great nephews and 4 great nieces.He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother-in-law, Joe Stewart.Funeral Services will be at 3:00 P.M. February 12, 2012 at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Johnson Chapel with Brother Ronnie Geary and Brother Stacy McCullom presiding. Burial will follow in the Montezuma Cemetery.Visitation will be Monday, February 11, 2012 from 5:00 – 9:00 P.M. at Johnson Chapel.
