James Samson Barnes

James Samson (Sam) Barnes was born January 20, 1934 in Adamsville, TN the son of the late James Ed and Medie Carolina Moore Barnes. He was united in marriage to Dora Marie Shelton in 1963. Mrs. Barnes preceded him in death in 2011.

Mr. Barnes was a Logger. Some of his favorite pastimes were wood working, whittling, pulling pranks, telling stories, hunting, fishing, spending time with his family, friends, and his dogs.

Mr. Barnes departed this life on December 26, 2014 in Humboldt, Tennessee at the age of 80 Years, 11 Months, 6 Days.

He is survived by two daughters, Thelma Carolina Rogers and husband Jimmy of Humboldt, TN, Deloris Marie Cook and husband Joel of Parsons, TN; three sons, Timothy Earl Godsey of Savannah, TN, Josh Randall Godsey and wife Cynthia of Enville, TN, Walter Thomas Godsey of Dresden, TN; five grandchildren, Lacy Marie Morris of Savannah, TN, James Rickey Boehm and wife Angela of Humboldt, TN, Mathew Allen Bailey and fiancee Connie Rainey of Humboldt, TN, Randall J Godsey and fiancee Brandy ryans of Enville, TN, Jamie Lynn Brawley of Parsons, TN; eight great grandchildren, Brooke bailey, Brenne Wayne Stricklin, Baley James Stricklin, Bela Carolina Marie Stricklin, Dalton R Godsey, Jaden Ray Godsey, Gracie Brawley, Haven Rachell Brawley; and a host of extended family and friends.

In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Barnes was preceded in death by two brothers, Abe Barnes, Sol Barnes; four sisters, Minnie Mae Arnold, Pearl Lee Kiddy, Naomi Lois Sanford, Flossie Mae Hunt; two grandchildren, Amy Jo Childress, and Angel Carol Godsey.
