James Warren Barnes

James Warren Barnes was born on February 11, 1922 in Selmer, Tennessee to the late Edgar and Maggie Willis Barnes. He was united in marriage to Shirley Carman on October 28, 1944. They made their home in Selmer. James was a long-time Deacon of Falcon Baptist Church. He was retired from Brown Shoe Company.James departed this life on Friday, November 18, 2011 at his residence. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Shirley Barnes; one daughter, Carolyn Felker of Selmer; two sons, Ron Barnes and wife Sandra of Jackson, Tennessee, and Randy Barnes of Memphis; three grandsons, Cliff Felker, Justin Barnes and wife Ashley, and Wesley Barnes; one granddaughter, Emily Barnes; four great-granddaugthers, Laura Felker, Katie Felker, Heaven Felker, and Alayna Felker; a brother, Hubert Barnes and wife Jeanette of Selmer; two sisters-in-law, Faye Barnes and Joan Barnes.In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by two brothers, George Barnes and Wilburn Barnes, and a sister, Laura Pearl Wilson.
