JAMES PARKER BARNETT
was born in Hardin County, Tennessee on December 15, 1927 the son of the late William Jesse and Pearl Gibbs Barnett.
On December 30, 1967 he was united in marriage to Mary Elizabeth Burross, who survives.
Mr. Barnett served his country in the United States Army. He was supervisor for State of Tennessee Highway Department. Mr. Barnett also worked for Allis Chalmers Equipment Dealer and Butler Buildings Dealer. He was also self employed where he worked with his sons at J. P. Barnett & Sons Auto Shop.
Mr. Barnett was a member of the VFW in Savannah, Tennessee and the American Legion. He was a member of Morris Chapel Baptist Church. Mr. Barnett enjoyed woodworking, gardening, reading his Bible and listening to the Bible on tapes. He also enjoyed listening to Bill O'Reilly and Shawn Hannity.
Mr. Barnett departed this life on May 16, 2015 at the age of 87 years, 5 months and 1 day.
In addition to his wife Mary of 47 years, he is survived by his children, James D. Barnett and his wife Donna J. of Powell, Ohio, Willie Neal Barnett of Memphis, Tennessee and Connie Smith and her husband Tony of Adamsville, Tennessee.
five grandchildren, Deric J. Barnett and his wife Lisette, Tyler J. Barnett, Mark Carpenter and his wife Leah, Angie Reed and her husband Travis and Tim Smith and his wife Angie.

one nephew, Lonnie Barnett of Savannah, Tennessee
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by one sister, Anna Elizabeth (Travis) Howard, one brother, S. W. Barnett and one sister in law, Pearl Barnett.
