James Lee (Jim) Barnette was born November 26, 1929 in Decatur County, Tennessee the son of the late James Elvie and Opal Ora Gibson Barnette.He was united in marriage to Ella Mae Vales. Mrs. Barnette preceded him in death on November 14 , 2007.
Mr. Barnette departed this life on July 2, 2011 in Jackson, Tennessee at the age of 81 Years, 7 Months, 6 Days.
He was a member of the Masonic Lodge #485 F&AM in Henderson, Worked as Life insurance agent for Life of Georgia for 27 years. His hobby was woodworking. He was also a member of the Pleasant Springs United Methodist Church.
He is survived by a daughter, Linda Moore Rettberg of Powell, TN; a brother, Benny Robert Barnette of Henderson,four grandchildren, Melissa Wiliford, Bryan Moore, Debbie Thornhill Julie Thompson; five great grandchildren, Haley Moore, Caleb Wiliford, Maddie Moore, Michael Thornhill, Brittany Thompson; a grt-grt-grandchild, Ava Grace Thompson. In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Barnette was preceded in death by a son, James Larry Barnette; a stepdaughter, Joella Collins; three brothers, David Barnette, William Barnette, Dual Barnette.
