James Ely Bowden

James Ely Bowden departed this life on Tuesday, August 18, 2015, at the age of 66 years, 11 months, 6 days. He was born in Corinth, Mississippi on September 13, 1948, the son of the late Herman and Edith Mitchell Bowden. On March 2, 1981, he was united in marriage to Mary Haygood, who survives.

James worked as a general laborer at the saw mill.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Bowden of Corinth, Mississippi; children, Dillon Bowden and wife, Angie, Justin Bowden and wife, Amy all of Corinth, Mississippi, and Michelle Bowden of Selmer, Tennessee; grandchildren, Billon Bowden and wife, Brenna, Christy Bowden, Tyler Bowden, Elizabeth Bowden, Sarah Bowden, Bailey Bowden, Klayton Bowden, Felicia Bowden, Traxton Bowden, William Clance, and Carl Clance; sister, Susan Plunk of Guntown, Mississippi; brothers, Archie Bowden and Joseph Bowden both of Corinth, Mississippi; and a host of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Tony Bowden; grandson, Cody Bowden; brother, Frankie Bowden, Wayne Bowden, and Herbert Bowden; sister, Katherine Blasingame; and son-in-law, Carl Clance.
