James Charlie Brewer

James Charlie Brewer was born September 14, 1951 in Waynesboro, Tennessee, the son of the late John V. and Mattie Uzora Dicus Brewer. He was united in marriage to Dora Ann Brown on May 26, 1972.



Mr. Brewer was a truck driver for over 31 years with Hassell and Hughes Lumber Company . He was a member of the Grace Baptist Church in Collinwood, Tennessee.



Mr. Brewer departed this life on Tuesday, August 18, 2009 at his home in Cypress Inn, Tennessee at the age of 57 Years, 11 Months, 4 Days.



He is survived by his wife, Dora Ann Brown Brewer of Cypress Inn, TN; a son, James Shannon Brewer and wife, Erin of Collinwood, TN; a daughter, Melonie Ann Brewer Gillis and husband, Josh of Cypress Inn, TN; grandchildren, Ethan, Laney, Thayer, and Tinslee Brewer and Mikaella, Autumn, and Layla Gillis; two brothers, John Kevin (Pete) Brewer of Medina, TN, Robert Marcus (Mark) Brewer of Florence, AL; three sisters, Jennifer (Goog) Stults, Glendora (Dodie) Dean, and Pantha Bates all of Collinwood, TN; several nieces and nephews; his mother-in-law, Faye Brown of Waynesboro, TN; and special friends, Ted and Jean McWilliams and family.



In addition to his parents, Mr. Brewer was preceded in death by a sister, Penelope (Penny) Smith.



Services will be Thursday, August 20, 2009 at 1:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Home Chapel in Collinwood, Tennessee, with Josh Stults officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Gardens at Collinwood, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors of Wayne County directing. Pallbearers will be Ted McWilliams, Jim Bo Dean, Troy Dean, Jeremiah Stults, Nick Moore, Justin Brewer, and Phillip Gobbell. Visitation will be Wednesday, August 19, 2009 from 6 pm to 9 pm and Thursday, August 20, 2009 from 10 am until service time at the funeral home.
