James R. Brown was born September 3, 1930 in Selmer, TN the son of the late Everett and Myrtle Willis Brown.
He was united in marriage to Dorthene Michael on May 31, 1952.
Mr. Brown retired as Master Sergeant from the United States Air force after 22 years of honorable service to his country. His years of service carried him to Thailand, Japan, Korea, and different states. He was a member of the Union Grove United Methodist Church.
Depending on where he was at, his name would be different. Some knew him as James, Jim or Roscoe. Regardless of the name he was the same generous person. His hand made one-of-a kind walking sticks, his realistic hand carved animals and his beautiful vegetables from his garden were often gifted to family, friends, and neighbors.
Mr. Brown departed this life on February 15, 2018 in Selmer, Tennessee at the age of 87 Years, 5 Months, 12 Days. He is survived by his wife Dorthene Brown of Selmer, TN; two daughters, Beverly (Brown) Lozano, Cindy Sappington; two sons, James Kris Brown and wife Debbie, Stanley Brown and wife Shirley; two sisters, Iris Boatman and Dot Huckabee; three brothers, Rex, Don, and James B. (Bucky) Brown; 13 Grandchildren, 13 Great Grandchildren; and a host of extended family and friends.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Brown was preceded in death by two brothers, Arnold and Vernon Brown.
