James Edwin Clement was born on January 12, 1927 in Savannah, Tennessee, the son of the late James Washington and Beulah Ellison Clement. On February 15, 1947, he was united in marriage to Frances Louise Ferrell, who survives.
Mr. Clement served his country in the United States Army from June 1, 1945 to December 23, 1946. As part of his service, he was stationed in Germany from March 7, 1946 to December 11, 1946.
He lived in Hardin County all of his life, with the exception of the time he served in the Army. He was retired from Wolfe Sales Company where he was employed as a finish carpenter and built cabinets. James was also a member of the Carpenters Union. He was a bird hunter, raised and trained his own bird dogs, as well as a fisherman.
James is survived by his wife of 68 years, Frances Clement of Savannah, Tennessee; 3 children, Paul Clement of Jackson, Missouri, Judy Clement of Counce, Tennessee, and Brenda Willoughby of Savannah, Tennessee; 1 brother, Charles Clement of Peoria, Illinois; 7 grandchildren, Nicholas Clement, Allen Willoughby, Daniel Willoughby, Misty Lay, Todd Clement, Logan Flynn, and Cory Russell; and 6 great-grandchildren, Cody Willoughby and his wife Mallori, Spencer Willoughby, Anna Beth Willoughby, Jaymz Clement, Walker Lay, and Zach Clement.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, James "Eddie" Clement and 5 siblings, George Clement, Bob Clement, Anna Laura Durbin, Tommy Clement, and Billy Clement.
