James E. (Jim) Cooper of Bethel Springs, TN was born October 16, 1934 in Oxford, AR the son of the late Burgess and Bernice Faust Cooper. He was united in marriage to Elizabeth H. Heavner on May 21, 1955.
Mr. Cooper graduated from West Memphis High School in 1953 and attended Memphis State University. He served as Vice President of Transportation for Aqua Glass and General Manager of Tom Bigbee Transportation Corporation for 20 years until retiring in 1999. He and his wife Betty owned and operated several businesses over the years in Memphis, TN before settling in Bethel Springs with their family in 1974. He was a member of the Stantonville Church of Christ.
Mr. Cooper departed this life on December 16, 2016 at his home at the age of 82 Years, 2 Months. He is survived by his wife Elizabeth H. (Betty) Cooper of Bethel Springs, TN; a daughter, Vicky Taylor and husband Jimmy of Charlotte, NC; three sons, Phillip Cooper and fiancee Tracy of Stantonville, TN, Tim Cooper and wife Tammy of Selmer, TN, Aaron Cooper and wife Kristi of Bethel Springs; eleven grandchildren, Andy Cooper and wife Michelle, Adam Cooper and wife Brooke, Cory Cooper and wife Brianna, Shelby Cooper, Chris Taylor, Jon Taylor, Lauren Sprayberry and husband Jordan, Anna Cooper, Marissa Cooper, Mathew Cooper, Olivia Cooper; two step grandchildren, Samantha Hollie, Dakota Butler; six great grandchildren, A. J. Cooper, Alexis Taylor, Miles Cooper, Ethan Cooper, Amelia Cooper, Ella Mae Cooper; two step great-grandchildren; Brian Plunk, Rudy Plunk; a sister, Janice Daniels and husband Seth of Hernando, MS; a brother, Wayne Cooper and wife Clara of Monticello, AR; a sister-in-law, Darlene Cooper of St. Louis, MO; a host of extended family and friends.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Cooper was preceded in death by a brother, Travis Cooper; a daughter-in-law, Nancy Jane (Raines) Cooper.
