James Terry Cummings

James Terry Cummings of Cypress Inn, TN was born August 22, 1956 in Detroit, Michigan, the son of James and Jean Henson Cummings of Collinwood, TN who survives. Mr. Cummings was a retired Chief Engineer with Ingram Barge Company. He attended Burns Chapel Church and was a member of the Masonic Lodge.



Mr. Cummings was found dead on Monday, January 18, 2010 at his home at the age of 53 Years, 4 Months, 27 Days.



Other than his parents, he is survived by two sons, Justin James Terry Cummings and fiancee, Jordan Sherrill of Collinwood, TN, Timothy Chase Cummings of Collinwood, TN; a daughter, Christy Tera Vandygriffe and husband, Jackie of West Point, TN; grandchildren, Halle Beth, Makenna Grace, and Jackson Avery Vandygriffe; a brother, Tim Cummings and wife, Paula of Waynesboro, TN; a sister, Judy Beckham and husband, Tommy of Cypress Inn, TN; nieces and nephew; his former wife and mother of his children, Billie Morgan Cummings, Collinwood, TN.



He is preceded in death by grandparents, Lincoln and Ellen Cummings, Aaron and Vicie Henson.



Services will be held on Friday, January 22, 2010 at 3:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Home Chapel in Collinwood, Tennessee, with Edward Burbank and Sammy Franks officiating. Burial will follow in the Memorial Gardens at Collinwood, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors of Wayne County directing. Visitation will be Thursday, January 21, 2010 from 5 pm to 9 pm and Friday, January 22, 2010 from 9 am to service time at the funeral home.
