James (Jim) Curtis

James Scot Curtis (Jim) passed away in Brownsville, Tennessee on Sunday, June 27, 2021.

Jim was born in Memphis, Tennessee on October 23, 1964, the son of Jimmy and Mickey Rice Curtis.

Jim graduated from Milan High School in 1983 and the University of Tennessee at Martin in 1992 with a degree in Philosophy and Political Science. He was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity. Jim was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Savannah, Tennessee.

In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his brother Joe Curtis.

Jim is survived by his sister, Connie Curtis Hockaday (Eddie), his nephew Edward Hockaday III (Kara) and his niece, Tori Hockaday. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins.

A family graveside service will be held at White Sulphur Cemetery in Pickwick Dam, Tennessee with Reverend Walter Mischke officiating.

The family requests that memorials be made to the Milan Mustard Seed, 2027 S. 2nd Street, Milan, Tennessee 38358 or First United Methodist Church, 270 Main Street, Savannah, Tennessee 38372.
