James Edward Daniel of Cypress Inn, TN was born November 11, 1945 in Collinwood, TN, the son of the late Jeffie Coolidge and Robbie Louise Brison Daniel. He was united in marriage to the former Cathey Sue Brewer on April 23, 1988 and was a welder for 35 and one half years at Murray Ohio Manufacturing Co in Lawrenceburg, TN. He was a member of the Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, Iron City, Tennessee. Mr. Daniel enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, Nascar, watching sports, having become more interested in watching golf recently and mowing his yard.
He departed this life on Monday, July 19, 2021at Maury Regional Medical Center in Columbia, Tennessee at the age of 75 Years, 8 Months, 8 Days and is survived by his wife, Cathey Sue Brewer Daniel of Cypress Inn, TN; three daughters, Deanna Daniel of Florence, AL, Amelia Lee McCullough and husband, David of Muscle Shoals, AL and Shelia Sue Jones and husband, William of Somerville, TN; grandchildren, James Christian Douglass, Fallon Cozart and husband, Kenneth, Scarlett Alexis Lee McMurturey and Williams Garrett McMurturey; great-grandchildren, Kollin Wayne Cozart, Natalie Colleen Douglass and Ava Lynn Douglass; a sister, Rita Kay Butts and husband, Bobby of Rising Fawn, GA; nieces and nephews, Angelia Danielle Butts, Michelle Brison Adams and husband, Tommy, Tim Whitten and wife, Kim and Chris Whitten and wife, Alicia and sister-in-law, Connie Lay and husband, Billy.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Daniel was preceded in death by a brother, Burnett Brison and a nephew, Marshall Brison.
Services will be Thursday, July 22, 2021 at 1:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Directors chapel in Collinwood, Tennessee, with Bob Johnston and Stacey Holt officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Gardens of Wayne County, Collinwood, Tennessee. Visitation will be Wednesday, July 21, 2021 from 5 pm to 8 pm and Thursday, July 22, 2021 from 9 am to service time at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Christian Douglass, Kenneth Cozart, William McMurturey, Gaylon Daniel, Junior Wright and Arlie Daniel with honorary pallbearers being Billy Holt, Gary Martin, Keith Hensley, Tim Whitten, Chris Whitten, David McCullough and Curtis Daniel.
