James Earl Maples
was born in New Hope, Alabama on April 24, 1941, the son of the late Willie and Evelyn Bates Maples.
On August 1, 1964, he was united in marriage to Linda Faye Rainey, who survives.
James worked in production for Aqua Glass Corporation. James was a member of Meeks Grove Baptist Church in Adamsville, Tennessee. In his spare time he enjoyed working on lawnmowers and cars. James loved to work with tools and anytime he could have a wrench in his hands he was happy. He also loved spending time with his family.
James departed this life on Wednesday, December 24, 2025 in Jackson, Tennessee at the age of 84 years and 8 months.
In addition to his wife of 61 years, Linda Maples, he is survived by his grandson, Nicholas James Maples; and two brothers, Neill Maples and RL Maples.
James was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Evelyn Maples; son, Timothy Maples; daughter, Tina Maples; and a host of brothers and sisters.
