Jim Fredrickson, a beloved member of his community, was born on April 28, 1937, in Des Moines, IA, to Elwood Carl and Ruth Grace Laven Fredrickson. He married the love of his life, Annette Coldwell, on June 6, 1959.
Jim's career at GE as a chemical engineer spanned from 1971 until his retirement in 1999. Outside of work, Jim dedicated over 40 years to leading music at Clear Creek Baptist Church where he was an active member. His passions included carpentry, leatherwork, and traveling with his family - initially in a pop-up camper and later in an RV. Fishing and quality time with his grandchildren brought him immense joy.
On May 8, 2024, Mr. Fredrickson passed away in Selmer, Tennessee at the age of 87 years and 10 days. He leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness. Jim is survived by his devoted wife of 65 years, Annette Fredrickson of Selmer, TN; daughters, Mari Lynn Ross (Richard) of Jellico, TN and Julie Ann Mitchell (Paul) of Atlanta, GA; son, James Ivan Fredrickson (Tiffany) of Selmer, TN; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; and a host of extended family and friends.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Fredrickson was preceded in death by a sister, Elaine Swain.
