James Marvin Gibson

January 21, 1915 — October 3, 2009

Mr. Gibson passed away Saturday morning at his home in Toone.



The widower of Tressie Young Gibson, who died on January 8,

2005, he was a retired production worker with the Bolivar Tannery

and a farmer. He was born January 21, 1915 in Toone, son of the

late Steve Hardy Gibson and Gracie Young Gibson and lived all of

his life in Hardeman County. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and

was a member and deacon since the 1960's at Ebenezer Baptist

Church.



Survivors include a daughter, Juanita Grantham of Toone; two sons,

James Edward Gibson of Germantown and Robert Louie Gibson of

Toone; a sister, Frances Healey of Hampton, CT; 9 grandchildren

and 17 great grandchildren. In addition to his wife and parents, he

was preceded in death by a sister, Dessie Baney; two brothers, Lee

Austin Gibson and Enloe Gibson; a granddaughter, Martha Lee

Gibson Mosley; a son in law, Kenneth Grantham and a daughter in

law, Harriet Dyer Gibson.
