James Glidewell departed this life on Friday, October 1, 2021, at the age of 73 years, 2 months, and 9 days. He was born in Alcorn, Mississippi on July 22, 1948, the son of the late Robert Lee and Mary Magdalene Lindsey Glidewell. On June 29, 1971, he was united in to Mary Ethel Jones, who survives.
James was a farmer and truck driver. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, collecting coins, playing cards with his friends, and watching The Price is Right and Wheel of Fortune. He was a member of Father's House Church.
James is survived by his wife of 50 years, Mary Ethel Glidewell of Savannah, Tennessee; son, James Michael Glidewell and his wife Mary Ann of Adamsville, Tennessee; stepson, Ricky Willingham of Steele, Missouri; stepdaughter, Marsha Ganus and her husband Carl of Steele, Missouri; grandchildren, Michaela Elizabeth Glidewell, Eli James Glidewell, Waylon Dale Glidewell, Patrick Willingham, Noah Willingham, Ami Pendley, Joie Ganus, Becky Teeter, and Jonathan Ganus; numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by a sister, Mae Breedlove.
