James Allen Helton

James Allen Helton Mr. James Allen Helton departed this life on Tuesday, September 22, 2020 at his residence in Waynesboro, Tennessee at the age of 77 Years, 9 Months, 6 Days. He was born December 16, 1942 in Waynesboro, TN, the son of the late Walter D. and Grace L. Jones Helton.

He was united in marriage to the former Nellie Ruth Wallace on May 20, 1961.

Mr. Helton was a retired line worker from Murray Ohio Manufacturing and was a member of Upper Green River Baptist Church in Waynesboro, TN.

He is survived by his wife, Nellie Ruth Wallace Helton, son, James Ray Helton and wife, Deana L.; two granddaughters, Britney Renea Williams and husband, Ben and Amber Dee Staggs and husband, Chris and great-grandchildren, Carson and Charlie Williams and Mallory Staggs all of Waynesboro, TN and a brother, Herbert Wayne Helton and wife, Elaine of Goodlettsville, TN.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Helton was preceded in death by daughter, Kimberly Dawn Gower.

Services will be held on Friday, September 25, 2020 at 1:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Directors chapel in Waynesboro, Tennessee, with Casey Jones and Jerry Flippo officiating. Burial will follow in the Shield Cemetery, Waynesboro, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors, Wayne County assisting the family. Visitation will be Thursday, September 24, 2020 from 5:30 pm to 8 pm and Friday, September 25, 2020 from 8 am to service time at the funeral home.

Pallbearers wil be Chris Staggs, Ben Williams, Tony Helton, Scott Helton, Roger Jones and Daniel Jones.
