JAMES KELLEY
Henderson, TN: James Alvin Kelley age 87 passed away November 29, 2017 at the Henderson Health & Rehabilitation Center.
He was born June 17, 1930 in Chester County, the son of the late Jasper Alvin and Sarah Crickett Bailey Kelley. He attended school in Chester County. He started to work at Salant & Salant at the age of seventeen and worked in the cutting room for forty-five years. He married Nora Ruth Davis in 1970. He had made his home in the Talley Store Community all of his life prior to moving to Lexington in 2013 to make his home near Gail. Mrs. Kelley died in 2013. He had made his home at Henderson Healthcare since 2014.
He was a member of the Love & Truth Church in Henderson.
Mr. Kelley is survived at stepdaughter, Gail Davis and husband Danny of Lexington; a sister, Mary Harris of Henderson and a grandchild, Danny Ray Eddings and a great grandchild, Megan Eddings.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Joe Kelley and sisters; Ora Lea Barham, Edna Mitchell, Rachel Seeley, and Era Mae Talbert.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Thursday November 30, 2017 at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Casey Chapel with Denny Broadway officiating. Burial will follow in Sweetlips Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Casey Chapel beginning at 5:00 PM Wednesday.
