Mr. Kennedy passed away Monday morning, March 7, 2011 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
The widower of Lois Black Kennedy, who died December 18, 2009 after 62 years of marriage, he was a chief inspector at Tennessee Gas Pipeline where he was employed for 38 years. Mr. Kennedy was born November 3, 1929 in Middleton to the late Clarence Kennedy and Daisy Belle McMahan Kennedy and had lived in Bolivar since the mid-1980's. He served as a Mason and enjoyed working with wood and upholstery. He also coached Little League and Babe Ruth baseball. Mr. Kennedy was Cumberland Presbyterian in faith.
He is survived by two sons, Jim Kennedy and his wife, Robbie of Lexington and Billy Kennedy of Bolivar; a sister, Dalmer Hammett of New Madrid, MO; a brother, Will Frank Kennedy of Bolivar; a half-brother, R.D. Kennedy of Jackson; a nephew, Joe Pettigrew of Memphis; a niece, Kay Pettigrew Henson of Bolivar; six grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
