James William (Jimmy) Kirby was born July 24, 1951 in Peoria, IL the son of the late Robert and Barbara Cable Kerby.
Jimmy was raised by his uncle and aunt, Lloyd and Annis (Sally) Kirby, spending the first 40 years of his life in Memphis, TN. After Lloyd retired from the Memphis Area Transit Authority, the family moved to Selmer, TN where Jimmy spent the remaining 20 plus years of his life. Singing and eating were two of Jimmy's favorite pastimes. He also enjoyed watching cartoons, Gunsmoke, and Tarzan on the TV Land Channel. Jimmy was a member of Lakeview Baptist Church in Selmer, and had also attended the Fourth Street church of Christ.
Jimmy departed this life on March 12, 2014 in Selmer, Tennessee at the age of 62 Years, 7 Months, 16 Days. He is survived by six brothers: Bobby Kerby, John Kerby, Greg Kerby, Tommy Kerby, Teddy Kerby, and Irv DuBois; a sister, Laura Franklin; several cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
