Mr. Holloway departed this life on Wednesday, July 27, 2022, at Bolivar General Hospital.
He was born in Corinth, MS on July 5, 1958 to the late James Leroy and Georgia Helen Hicks Holloway and lived most all his life in Hardeman County. He was a graduate of Bolivar Central High School and married Charlotte Lee Greene on December 19, 1987. She passed away on May 9, 2016 following 28 years of marriage.
Mr. Holloway had formerly worked at Kilgore and Lucerne before becoming a truck driver for the remainder of his career. He was employed by Max-Trans in Humboldt at the time of his death. He was a member of Bolivar First United Pentecostal Church and, in his leisure time, enjoyed hunting, fishing, motorcycles, woodworking, carpentry, music (especially Pink Floyd), playing guitar and grilling out. Described by his family as a compassionate man with a pure heart, his most treasured times were those spent with his family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He leaves two daughters, Donna Christopher (Jeff) of Ligonier, PA and Cherie Bryant (Rev. Tim) of Bolivar; two sons, Brent Ethington (Kristie) of Daphne, AL and James Lamar Holloway, Jr. (Jessica) of Martin, TN; one sister, Glenda Lagomarsino (Paul) of Byhalia, MS; eight grandchildren, Alisha Castillejos (Gerson), Christa Bryant, Joshua Bryant (Brittany), Zachary Rayburn (Dalayna), Brett Ethington, Nine Christopher, Drew Christopher and Jenny Smith; and four great-grandchildren, Gideon Doyle, Elena Bryant, Greyson and Gabriel Castillejos.
