James Malone

JAMES MALONE

James Clyde Malone, 85, formerly of Henderson, TN passed away peacefully on July 3, 2025 at Maplewood Healthcare Center in Jackson where he had been a resident since April 12, 2025. His wishes were to be cremated. Shackelford-Casey Chapel is handling those arrangements.

He was born in Chester County, TN on March 9, 1940 to the late Clyde Anthon (1980) and Virginia Rozelle White Malone (2009).

James worked in many different types of construction (including home building), many times traveling to other states for those jobs until he retired. At the age of 26 James made the decision to serve his country by joining the US Army. He trained at Fort Polk, LA US Army Infantry Training Center and at Fort Leonard Wood, MO as an engineer. After his training he was stationed in Korea as an Indirect Fire Infantryman until his honorable discharge. He was a member of Co A 1st Bn 17th Inf 7th Inf Div Eighth Army.

James was preceded in death by his parents; wife Nancy A. Brammer Malone of Boonville, IN (1961); his companion of 38 years Barbara A. Busby (2017); Brothers Bedford Forrest of Chandler, IN (2020); and Claudie Anthon of Henderson, TN (2022).

James is survived by a daughter Lisa Malone Key (Carl) and a grandson Kristopher Key of Boonville, IN; Two brothers Joe and Paul both of Finger, TN; nephews, nieces, and their families; two sister in-laws; his companion’s daughter, Sherry Busby Thomas (Greg) of Henderson, TN (who were also caregivers for James) and their Children and Grandchildren.

James enjoyed spending time with family and friends, and fishing trips with his companion to their camp site on the Tennessee River. James will be greatly missed by many.
