James Kevin Mathis

James Kevin Mathis of Waynesboro, TN was born August 4, 1971 in Waynesboro, Tennessee. He was a contract laborer and attended the Mt. Hope Methodist Church in Waynesboro, Tennessee. He departed this life on Monday, September 20, 2010 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee at the age of 39 Years, 1 Month, 16 Days.



He is survived by a daughter, Morgan Ann Mathis of Waynesboro, TN; father and step-mother, Bobby and Connie Mathis of Waynesboro, TN; mother and step-father, Kathryn and Robert J. Bassham of Dickson, TN; a brother, Christopher Kyle Mathis and wife, Chris of Waynesboro, TN; a sister, Jennifer Lee Mathis of Smyrna, TN; a stepbrother, Joshua Creasy of Waynesboro, TN; a stepsister, Jamie Smith of Lawrenceburg, TN; maternal grandparents, Will J. and Joyce Moore of Iron City, TN; step-paternal grandmother, Clara Mathis of Waynesboro, TN; nephews, Hagan and Peyton Mathis of Waynesboro, TN; aunts, uncles, and cousins.



He was preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Herbert and Inez Mathis.



Services will be held on Wednesday, September 22, 2010 at 1:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Directors Chapel in Waynesboro, Tennessee, with Bobbie Martin officiating. At his request, cremation will follow with Shackelford Funeral Directors of Wayne County directing. All friends will be honorary pallbearers. Visitation will be Tuesday, September 21, 2010 from 6 pm to 9 pm and Wednesday, September 22, 2010 from 8 am until service time at the funeral home.
