James David ‘Pop’ Middleton
Pinson: Mr. James David Middleton, age 82, of Pinson died Saturday evening August 15, 2015 at Jackson General Hospital.
Mr. Middleton was born and reared at Beech Bluff, the son of the late John Henry and Anna Singleton Middleton. He went to school at Beech Bluff. He farmed as a young man and entered the U. S. Army and served in Korea in the infantry. He married Hazel Nadine Harris in 1956 and they made their home at Pinson. Mr. Middleton worked most of his working career with the City of Jackson in grounds keeping. He retired in 1995
He was a member of the Salvation Army Church in Jackson.
He is survived by four sons; David Earl Middleton and wife Betty Jean of Pinson, Van Hollis Middleton of Pinson, Michael Allen Middleton of Henderson, and Andy Ray Middleton and wife Dana of Pinson, a daughter Kimberly Pierce and husband Bo of Pinson, 14 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife Hazel Nadine Middleton, two daughters; Ameila New and an infant daughter Eunice, three brothers Tom, Jesse, and Alvin Middleton, and three sisters; Eunice Baker, Gertie Pollock, and Nolie Jackson.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Tuesday at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Casey Chapel with Major Jayne May officiating. Burial will be at Chapel Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Shackelford – Casey Chapel from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM Monday.
