James Alfred Neill

JAMES ALFRED NEILL

was born in Savannah, Tennessee on October 19, 1931 the son of the late James Thomas and Georgia Alice Shelton Beckham Neill.

On August 18, 1951 he was united in marriage to Sally D. Reynolds, who preceded her husband in death on August 6, 2013.

Mr. Neill owned and operated Neill's Sawmill from 1978 until 2004. He was a member of Woodmen of the World and a member of Turkey Creek Baptist Church. Mr. Neill loved working with his mules and playing bluegrass music.

He departed this life on October 2, 2017 in Savannah, Tennessee at the age of 85 years, 11 months and 13 days.

Mr. Neill is survived by his children, Carolyn Sherrod and her husband Dennis of Cedar Grove, Tennessee, Terry Neill and his wife Patricia of Savannah, Tennessee and Thomas Neill and his wife Julie of Savannah, Tennessee.

five grandchildren, Northern Hendricks, Sara Holcomb, Kaydee Neill, Shelton Neill and Caleb Neill

two great grandchildren, Jackson Hendricks and Noah Holcomb

two sisters, Esther Godwin and Adeline Casteel

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, H. B. Beckham.
