James O. (J. O.) Pratt was born December 24, 1934 in Shiloh, Tennessee the son of the late Herman and Ruby Jordon Pratt. He was united in marriage to Geneva Ann Austin on November 5, 1954. He was a Machinist for 25 years at Dana Corporation in Corinth, Mississippi.
Mr. Pratt was a Christian who served his Lord and fellow christians faithfully for over 50 years in the Michie, TN First Baptist Church. He served as an active deacon for 33 years, served as church Secretary-Treasurer, taught the young married class, was a RA leader, and a lifelong member of the men's brotherhood. He cooked, camped, and fished with the men of the church. J. O. Pratt was a happy man who enjoyed the company of his fellow christians and loved christian fellowship.
Mr. Pratt departed this life on Monday, June 20, 2011 at his home at the age of 76 Years, 5 Months, 27 Days.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Geneva Ann (Austin) Pratt of Michie, TN;
two sons, Alan Todd Pratt and wife Karen Denise of Corinth, MS, James Timothy Pratt and wife Teresa Diane of Augusta, GA; three grandchildren, Richard Alan Pratt of Corinth, MS, James Casey Pratt of Corinth, MS, Brianna Nicole Pratt of Augusta, GA; two great grandchildren, Maddox Pratt of Corinth, MS, Mason Pratt of Corinth, MS; a sister, Mary Francis Henderson and husband Wayne of Corinth, MS. A host of extended family and friends.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Pratt was preceded in death by a brother, Harlan L. Pratt. His grandparents were the late Otis and Fannie Wingham Pratt and Jim and Nishie Green Pratt, all of the Shiloh community.
