James Floyd Pate, aged 71, of Lawrenceburg, TN, passed away on October 18, 2025, at his beloved home. He was born on September 12, 1954, in Blytheville, AR, he was the son of the late Golden Floyd and Minnie Viola Steadman Pate.
James honorably served in the United States Marine Corp.
On October 31, 1986, James found his lifelong partner in Shirley Pauline Martin, embarking on a journey of love that would inspire all who knew them. James dedicated over 20 years of his life as a service technician at Pepsi Bottling Group in Columbia, TN, where he earned the respect and admiration of his colleagues.
Beyond his professional life, James possessed a vibrant spirit, particularly evident in his passions. He was an avid knife collector and enjoyed the art of woodworking, creating pieces that resonated with his love for craftsmanship. Above all, James was the cornerstone of his family, a devoted provider, and protector who always ensured that his wife and loved ones were cared for.
James leaves behind a legacy of love, dedication, and the quiet strength that touched the lives of many. His memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who had the pleasure of knowing him.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Pauline Martin Pate of Lawrenceburg, TN; sons, Ronnie Cummins and David "Bubba" Cummins, both of Lawrenceburg, TN; daughter, Donna Brown of Waynesboro, TN; sister, Teresa Pate; grandchildren, Sonya England (Jake), Alexis Shelton (Jacob), Adrian Brown, Brittany Brown, Chloe Cummins, and Axton Cummins; and great grandchildren, Gerrick Patterson (Chelsey), Jaelynn England, Sutton England, Zella Shelton, Declan Shelton, Grayson Brown, and Zella Brown.
In addition to his parents,James was preceded in death by his daughter, Connie Simpson; and granddaughter, Holley Fisher.
