JAMES PEACOCK

Henderson, TN: James Joseph Peacock age 96 passed away March 30, 2020 at his home.

He was born December 28, 1923 at Fruitland, TN and grew up in Lake County, the son of the late Joe and Mammie Chamberlain Peacock. He worked as a share cropper as a young man and married Bennie Vonel l Dunn. He worked at Atlas Steel and Lindell Drop Forge. They moved to Henderson in 1970. He worked with his son Tim for over forty years at Peacock’s Batteries. Mrs. Peacock died in 1998.

He could work on and fix just about anything. He rebuilt generators, starters, alternators and could do anything electrical on a car.
Mr. Peacock is survived by a son, Tim Peacock of Henderson and a daughter, Jamie Hurst (Martin) of Henderson; four grandchildren, four great grandchildren; two brothers, Jimmy Chamberlain of Lake County, TN and Tommy Chamberlain of Kentucky and two sisters, Oralee Miller of Springfield and Teresa Spill of Union City, TN.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, a daughter, Linda Abfalter (2019) and a granddaughter, Erica Hendershot (2013).

IN RESPONSE TO GOVERNOR LEE’S EXECUTIVE ORDER 17, WHICH TOOK EFFECT AT 12:01 AM MARCH 23, 2020, THERE WILL BE NO PUBLIC VISITATIONS OR SERVICES THROUGH APRIL 5, 2020. WE APPRECIATE YOUR COOPERATION AND APOLOGIZE FOR ANY INCONVENIENCE.
