James (Jim) Phillips departed this life on Sunday, October 4, 2015, at the age of 83 years and 23 days. He was born in Hardin County, Tennessee on September 11, 1932, the son of the late Walton Alexander and Susie West Phillips.
James worked on the assemble line for General Electric and retired from the United States Air Force. He had previously lived in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He enjoyed farming, hunting, golfing, stock car racing, walking on his farm looking for rocks, camping, water skiing, his children and grandchildren, and his dog - Gunter. He was a member of the Adamsville Methodist Church.
He is survived by his children, Shelia Barrier of Savannah, Tennessee and Robert Phillips of Denver, Colorado; grandchildren, Rhonda Hill, Alicia Ivey, Ragen Phillips, Grant Phillips, Taylor Phillips, and Blake Phillips; eight great grandchildren; sisters, Madeline Littlefield of Stantonville, Tennessee and Olgia Hubbard of Adamsville, Tennessee; and a brother, Charles Phillips of Roachdale, Indiana.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Janet Sue Phillips and a grandson, Charles (Chuck) Barrier.
