James B. (Jimmy) Pierce

James B. (Jimmy) Pierce of Waynesboro was born July 25, 1930 in Lawrence County, TN the son of the late Harry B. and Sally Blair Pierce. Mr. Pierce departed this life on Monday, June 6, 2016 at Maury Regional Hospital in Columbia, Tennessee at the age of 85 Years, 10 Months, 12 Days. Mr. Pierce was a member of Waynesboro Masonic Lodge 127 and Leatherwood Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. On February 9, 1951 he was married to Mary Nell Smith Pierce who survives of Waynesboro, TN. Other than his wife he is survived by three brothers, Eugene Pierce, Donnie Pierce, and Dwayne Pierce all of Florence, AL, six sisters, Brenda Carbine, Joyce Maxwell, and Regina Hays all of Florence, AL, Wanda Lambert and Donna Perry both of Collinwood, TN, and Betty Brown of Detroit, MI, nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Pierce was preceded in death by a brother, Glen Pierce, two sisters, Violet Yarborough and Christella Eddington.

Services will be held Thursday, June 9, 2016 at 1:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Directors Chapel in Waynesboro, Tennessee with Dion Pulley officiating. Burial will follow in Collinwood Memorial Gardens with Shackelford Funeral Directors in charge of arrangements. Visitation will be Wednesday from 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM and Thursday from 8:00 AM until service time at the funeral home. Pallbearers are Robert Smith, Joe Smith, Cleo Kilburn, Floyd (Babe) Staggs, Kenneth Melson, and Larry Smith.
