JAMES SANDERS
Henderson, TN: James Franklin Sanders age 93 passed away Tuesday December 6, 2016 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.
He was born April 24, 1923 in Chester County the son of the late Jesse Lafayette and Nettie Fesmire Sanders. He attended schools in Chester County and graduated Chester County High School in 1942. He married Elvie Lee Patterson, September 28, 1945.They made their home in the Montezuma Community and worked farming and construction most of his life. He worked in the ASCS office for a few years. He was a member of the Montezuma Methodist Church, he taught Sunday school and was Sunday School Superintendent and served in many capacities at the church. He was one of the Charter members of the Montezuma Community Center.
Mr. Sanders is survived by his wife, Elvie Lee Sanders of Henderson; two daughters, Janice Schultz and husband Johnnie of Pinson and Pamela Clayton of Jackson; a son, Steve Sanders of Henderson; seven grandchildren, Barry Schultz, Philip Schultz, Brad Schultz, Amy Clayton Lofton, Ryan Clayton, Kacey Clayton and Christian Kafka; nine great grandchildren and one sister, Mildred Lott of Finger.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son-in-law, John N. Clayton, a grandson, Richard Schultz; a daughter-in-law, Lisa Sanders and two sisters, Lennie Lott and Ruby Ward.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Thursday, December 8, 2016 at the Shackelford Funeral Directors – Johnson Chapel with Ronnie Geary and Hiram Harrison officiating. Burial will follow in Montezuma Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Johnson Chapel 4 PM until 9:00 PM Wednesday.
