James E Stanfill departed this life on Monday, November 2, 2015, at the age of 86 years, 8 months, 16 days. He was born in Sardis, Tennessee on February 17, 1929, the son of the late Clayton and Timma Johnson Stanfill. On December 22, 1962, he was united in marriage to Alene Shelby Stanfill, who survives.
James was a veteran of the US Army and retired as a bridge foreman for the Hardin Highway Department. He enjoyed being outside mowing and farming, loved talking, and visiting with people. He attended Whites Creek Freewill Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Alene Stanfill of Savannah, Tennessee; daughter, Beverly Jerrolds and husband Rickey of Savannah, Tennessee; grandchildren, Kaylie and Tyler Jerrolds.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Floyd Stanfill, R.C. Stanfill, and Roy Stanfill; sisters, Alma Lindsey, Alice Durham, Nellie Newman, Bernice Brewer, and Myrtle Nixon.
