James Edward Wilbanks

Mr. James Wilbanks, age 82 passed December 5, 2014 at the Bolivar General Hospital.

He was born in Selmer Tennessee, son of the late John and Freddie Millsap Wilbanks, and raised by his mother and Riley Whitley, his father died when James was very young. He attended school in McNairy County and was married to Sadie Foust on September 18, 1957. He worked for the pipelines as a young man and later for the Madison County Government and at the Madison County Penal Farm. He was a member Pleasant Site Baptist Church in Selmer.
He is survived by his former wife, Sadie Swinford of Medon, two daughters; Lisa Lax of Gilbertsville, KY; Linda Hopper of Middleton; one son James E. Wilbanks Jr. of Medon . A sister Ruth Ann Whitley of Lawrenceburg, one brother Robert Whitley of Henderson, three grandchildren, Angela Hopper, Kayla Hopper, Jonathan Wilbanks , and one great grandchild, Jaxon Hopper.
