James Nolen Wolfe was born November 13, 1926 in McNairy County, Tennessee the son of the late Will and Zula King Wolfe.
He was united in marriage to Betty Cummings on May 17, 1947.
James was a home builder, contractor, and a retired rural mail carrier. He farmed and raised cattle with his brother Billy Joe Wolfe. He was an elder of the New Bethel Cumberland Presbyterian Church from September 1960 to July 1982. He then served as an elder at the Court Avenue Cumberland Presbyterian Church of Selmer. James was a veteran of World War II.
Mr. Wolfe departed this life May 2, 2020 in Selmer, Tennessee at the age of 93 years, 5 months, 19 days. James is survived by his wife of 73 years, 11 months, 15 days, Betty Wolfe of Selmer, Tennessee; two daughters, Jimmie Beeson and husband Darrell of Selmer, Tennessee and Debra Alsup of Lebanon, Tennessee; one granddaughter and six grandsons; nine great-granddaughters and 5 great-grandsons; 3 great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Jean King and husband Ralph of Selmer, Tennessee; a sister-in-law, Nell Leatherwood of Ripley, Mississippi; a niece, Charlotte Mitchell and husband Jerry of Selmer, Tennessee; and a host of family and friends.
