ALAN YOUNG
Jacks Creek, TN: James Alan Young age 62 passed away November 11, 2015 at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville.
He was born November 17, 1952 in the Jacks Creek Community, the son of the late Jimmy Neal and Edith Cardell Russom Young. He went to school in Jacks Creek and he graduated Chester County High School in 1970 and attended one year at Jackson State Community College. He worked on the farm as a young man. He entered the Tennessee National Guard in 1970, serving 36 years in the TN Army National Guard and volunteered to go to the war in Iraq and Kuwait returning to Texas while he was still active.
He drove a truck for Rush Trucking in Henderson and later began working at the Jackson Police Department in 1990 and also worked with the Madison County Sheriff’s Department, where he was a Deputy Sheriff and retired in 2012. He was a member of the Unity Baptist Church.
He loved his cows and farming and liked to garden. He also liked going to auction’s to find good deals and loved being with his grandchildren.
Mr. Young is survived by his wife, Molly Bondurant Smith Young; a son, Willard Kasey Young of Henderson and a daughter, Brittany Nicole Young of Henning; five grandchildren, Ethan Kyle Young, McKenzie Kasey Young, Karli Brooke Young, Drake Ashton Rahett Marsh and Loki Jaxon Gage Marsh and a sister, Debbie Young Hickman of NC.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Don Young in 2005 and Chris Young in 2014
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Friday November 20, 2015 at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Casey Chapel. Burial will follow in Unity Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Casey Chapel 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Thursday.
