Janet Sue Garrison was born on May 12, 1947 in Abilene, Kansas, the daughter of the late Frances Henry Lawinsky and Ruby Carmelita Rodie Veltman.
On June 26, 1966, she was united in marriage to Charles Robert "Butch" Garrison, who preceded his wife in death on November 22, 2001.
Janet spent her early childhood years living in Abilene, Kansas, before moving to Savannah, Tennessee during her high school years. She retired from Harbert Hills Academy Nursing Home where she was the activity director. She was employed there for over 60 years. Mrs. Garrison was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Savannah, Tennessee. She loved her flowers and her family and friends.
Janet Sue Garrison departed this life on January 27, 2026 in Savannah, Tennessee, at the age of 78 years, 8 months, and 15 days.
She is survived by her daughters, Donna Elder of Deland, Florida and Sabrina Bigbie (Adrian) of Savannah, Tennessee; son, Michael Garrison (Chris Sullivan) of Medina, Tennessee; chosen daughter, Kathy Moon (Bill) of Savannah, Tennessee; brothers, Leroy Lawinsky (Linda) of Ohio and Fernon Anthony Lawinsky (Marsha) of Abilene, Kansas; sisters, Kay Hinds and LaDonna Smith (Clifton), both of Olive Hill, Tennessee; grandchildren, Jason Moon, Hope Elam (Roger), Mary Sue Snoke, Savannah Long Guthrie (Carter), Krystal Long (Steve), Dakota Harris, Ashton Bigbie, Jamie Payton Long, and Destinee Thomas; and great grandchildren, Emily Snoke and Colt Snoke.
Services will be held on February 6, 2026 at 11:00 AM at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Savannah, Tennessee, with Pastor Bob Wint officiating. Burial will follow in the Overbrook Cemetery at Adamsville, Tennessee
