Janie Sue Crawford, 85, of Hornsby, passed away Wednesday morning, September 22, 2010 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
The widow of Gordon Crawford, who died February 13, 1989 after 46 years of marriage, she retired as director of housekeeping with the nursing home in Waverly, and also had worked at the local hospital. Mrs. Crawford was born May 9, 1925 in Chester County, the daughter of the late Obie Henson and Carrie Gee Henson, lived in Waverly for 27 years and in Hardeman County since 1989. She was a member of First Baptist Church at Waverly and loved gardening and cooking.
She is survived by a daughter, Carol Ann Morris of Waverly; twin sons, Larry Crawford of Bolivar and Barry Crawford of Waverly; a sister, Lila Jo Rowland of Henderson; six grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Amo and Paul Henson; a grandchild, Rae Ann Crawford; and a daughter-in-law, Kathy Crawford.
