Jason Alan Stockard was born February 13, 1974 in Grand Prairie, Texas, the son of Alan Ray Stockard and Anna Elizabeth Brasher Dennis. 

Jason graduated from Adamsville High School. He received his bachelor's and master's degrees from Freed-Hardeman University. He was a member of Milledgeville Church of Christ, where he often led the singing. 

Jason was a professor of English as a Second Language in China for over 7 years, but his main purpose was to act as a missionary for Jesus Christ. He loved all kinds of sports but was avid fan of Alabama football, Duke basketball and the Boston Red Sox. One of Jason's greatest loves was spending time with his nieces and nephews. He loved attending their ballgames, dance recitals and other activites. Jason was employed by CoreCivic in Clifton, Tennessee, helping inmates to re-enter life outside prison. 

Jason departed this life on April 17, 2023 in Saltillo, Tennessee, at the age of 49 years, 2 months, and 4 days. 

He is survived by his parents, Alan Ray Stockard (Kathy) and Anna Elizabeth Brasher Dennis (John); sisters, Kati Day (Tom), Lissy Alexander (Zach), Kassey Dennis (Sim), Andrea Clark (Darren) and Trixy Grant (Jamie); nieces and nephews; Sofia Diaz, Maisy Diaz, Holly Diaz, Lilah Diaz, Taylor White, Brielle Grant, Anniston Grant, Mason White, Trevor Alexander, Gavin Alexander, Caden Elardi and Jaxon Grant.

Jason was preceded in death by his grandparents, Clinton Eugene Brasher, Jane East Brasher, Nolan Ray Stockard and Jackie Huse Beavers and a nephew, Codee Davila. 

Services will be held on April 21, 2023 at 1:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Adamsville, Tennessee. Burial will follow in the Milledgeville Cemetery in Milledgeville, Tennessee.

Serving as pallbearers will be Ryan Sems, Joseph Wallace, James Rosson, Tom Day, Darren Clark, Jamie Grant, Zach Alexander, and Chris Brasher. Honorary pallbearers will be Warden Grady Perry and Assistant Warden Danny Dodd.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests friends and family consider donating to Samaritans Purse or a charity of your choice.
