JASPER ‘ALLEN’ PEDDY
Henderson, TN: Jasper “Allen†Peddy, age 77, departed this life on June, 11, 2009 at the Chester County Healthcare.
He was born and reared in the Glendale Community of Chester County, the son of the late Oscar Allen and Kathleen Mackie Jones Peddy. He attended school in Chester County and graduated C.C.H.S. in 1949. After his father’s death in 1951 he began his farming career. He was married to Thelma Rhodes of Rhodes Town in Henderson County in 1956 and they made their home in the Glendale Community. He got into Dairy Farming in the early 60’s up until 1986 and retired in 1999. He loved to garden, wood whittling and spending time with his family. He was a member of the Holly Springs Methodist Church.
He also served on the Tennessee Farm Bureau Insurance Board of Directors for 24 years and was President of Chester County Farm Bureau for several years. He also served on Hilltop Fire Dept Board of Directors and the Election Committee for many years.
He is survived by his wife of 5 days shy of 53 years of marriage, Thelma Rhodes Peddy; six children, Cynthia (Greer) Haynes of Germantown, Bryan Peddy of Nashville, Lisa Peddy of Henderson, Mark (Starla) Peddy of Henderson, Tina (Eddie) Henley of Henderson and Brent (Celeste) Peddy of Rock Hill, SC; seven grandchildren, Nathan Haynes, Derek Haynes, Alexis, Justin and Katie Peddy, Taylor Henley and Michael Jones; one sister, Velta Peddy Flippo of Lawrenceburg, TN; two special sister-in-laws, Mrs. Nelma Davis and Mrs. Kay Weaver.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Reginia Peddy Adkins.
