Jasvanthi Sombhai Desai

Jasvanthi Sombhai Desai was born April 16, 1955 in Durban, South Africa, the daughter of the late Sombhai Doolabh and Godavari Sombhai (Patel) Desai. She grew up in Durban and attended college there before moving to the United States in 1995 continuing her career in hotel management. She first worked in Manchester, TN then Hardy, AR before moving to Henderson, TN in April of 2008 to manage the Americana Inn. She loved to travel and was always eager to go! She also enjoyed reading and music. She was Hindu in faith and was a member of the BAPS Temple in Memphis. She departed this life on November 25, 2016 at the age of 61 years, 7 months and 9 days.
She is survived by two sisters Nimmi Desai of Hardy, AR , Kalavati Sombhai Mani and husband Prof of Martin, TN; a brother Bharat Desai of Durban, South Africa; nephew Dr. Shyam Mani, nephew Dr. Sharad Mani and wife Jaymini.
Funeral Service will be 10:00 AM Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at Shackelford Funeral Directors - Johnson Chapel with Priest Ganshyambhai Joshi officiating.
