Java Reynolds Stanley

July 8, 1969 — November 14, 2015

Java Reynolds Stanley was born in Hardin County, Tennessee on July 8, 1969, welcomed by her parents Delmer Woodrow and Dorothy "Dot" Hosey Reynolds.

Her basketball playing days began as a child and carried through as a student athlete at Hardin County High School. After high school she moved on to Memphis State University where she was a vital part of the Lady Tiger basketball team from 1987-1991. She was a standout player for Memphis State and remains ranked near the top of many statistical categories.

Java was a member of Mount Herman Baptist Church and a teacher in the science department at Hardin County High School for more than 10 years and a member of the National Science Teachers Association. Aside from being a wonderful and loving classroom teacher, she enjoyed coaching softball and basketball. She was involved in many school activities and was a student favorite. In the Fall of 2009, she decided to leave teaching to concentrate on her health. She continued to visit at school and never stopped being a part of Hardin County High School. She carried her love and kindness for the world to see. Her heart was made of gold, everyone else always came first in her life. She loved making people laugh and had a project going. In 2013, she was inducted into the Hardin County Sports Hall of Fame...what a deserving addition she was.

Java Reynolds Stanley left us on November 14, 2015, at the age of 46 years, 4 months, and 6 days.
