Jean Ballard, 79, of Bolivar passed from this life Sunday morning, December 16, 2018 at Bolivar General Hospital.
She was a native and life-long resident of Hardeman County, the daughter of the late Otis and Estell Collins Ballard. Additionally, she is preceded in death by a daughter, Sherry Wiggins; and a brother, Charles Ballard.
Ms. Ballard was a retired psychiatric technician at Western Mental Health Institute in Bolivar, where she worked for over 30 years. Her church membership was with Bolivar First Baptist Church, but had been attending at Dixie Hills Baptist Church. In her leisure time, she enjoyed watching wrestling and old westerns and spending time with all of her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Survivors include two daughters, Vicki M. Rush (Harry) of Silerton and Beverly Edwards of Destin, FL; a son, Darryl Massey of Bolivar; nine grandchildren, Jarrett, Denim and Brooklyn Massey, Kelci Newby, Heather Moats, Shannon James, Hunter and Ross Wiggins and Blake Edwards; nine great-grandchildren, Braden Massey, Santana Newby, Demi and Taylor Richardson, Landon Keller, Savanna Moats, Chase Carder, Emma Perry and Max Minderman; five great-great-grandchildren, Tysen and Cash Smith, Jeremiah Daughtry, Silas Keller and Addy Carder; and son-in-law, Lynn Wiggins of Bolivar.
