Jean Elizabeth Cox

Jean Elizabeth Cox was born February 11, 1929 in McNairy County, TN, the daughter of the late Elmer and Tinnie Moore Jamerson. She was united in marriage to R. P. Cox on September 16, 1949. Mr. Cox preceded her in death on August 11, 2012. She was a member of the Mt. Gilead Baptist Church in Bethel Springs, Tennessee. Jean worked for Brown Shoe Company for 32 years until they closed. She served her community well and kept many children over the years for many families. Mrs. Cox departed this life on April 17, 2018 in Selmer, Tennessee at the age of 89 Years, 2 Months, 6 Days.

She is survived by niece, Louise Jones of Oakland, TN; nephew, Kenneth Amerson and wife Dorothy of Bethel Springs, TN; and many other nieces, nephews and friends.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Cox was preceded in death by five sisters: Nell Marie Nowlin, Mandy Amerson, Pauline Hair, Mauline Singleton and Mary Edith Jamerson; five brothers: Garner, Ovie, Wilson, J. R. and Nelson Jamerson.
