She was born in Hinkle, Tennessee on October 20, 1935, the daughter of the late Robert Irvin Hopper and Annie Matilda East Hopper. On March 10, 1960, she was united in marriage to Edward Marley Gibson, who preceded her in death on November 14, 2017.
